One Month Old!

Our little girl was one month old yesterday! To celebrate she decided to sleep through the night for the first time...hooray!!! (Side note: for all you non-parents, that means she slept about 5 or 6 hours...that now counts as "through the night"). I can't give her height/weight stats b/c we don't go back to the doctor until 2 months. I can give other updates, though: she can hold her head up for little bits of time...when she's on her tummy she can push up and turn her head to the other side before lowering herself back down...she can track objects that you wave in front of her...she can grasp objects for little bits of time...and my personal favorite--she's given me her first real smiles!!!! She also has many nicknames: Munchkin, Muncheechee, Peanut, Peanuttle, the Littlest of the Abumchuks (don't ask...), Buddha Bear, Lila Belle, Lila Bear, Squeakles, and Robyn Squeakles (for fans of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, it's a spin-off of Robyn Sparkles). About the only thing we don't call her is Delilah. :)
Here are some more pics from her first month...

Asleep on Daddy's Chest--is there anything sweeter?!

One of my favorites...

Hanging out with Uncle Bryan (my brother)--she LOVES him!

Another 1 Month pic--this time with just her bloomers. Don't worry about her belly button-apparently she has a little hernia underneath but it's nothing to worry about.

Hanging out with Grammy Di (Chris's mom)

And we definitely should have given Grammy Di her own entry after her wonderful visit, but the time seemed to get away from me. She came down for about a week to help out and I can not say enough good things about my mother-in-law. She cooked, she cleaned, she changed diapers, she did everything. She even took the little one for an evening so that Chris and I could go on our first post-baby date. We love and miss you, Grammy Di, and can't wait for you to come back in June!!!!

First Mother's Day!

I don't think my first Mother's Day could have been any more perfect. Chris's mom (Grammy Di) is still in town, so the day was made even more special b/c there were two moms in the house! It started off with Chris making a lovely brunch of mimosas and French toast w/ raspberries. Yum! Then Grammy Di and I got to open all our cards and presents.
Grammy Di gave me a photo keychain that holds 60 digital images...how perfect is that gift for a new mom?! We decided to put Lila in one of her dresses b/c it was Mother's Day and she's only been wearing onesies since she was born. How cute is she?!
A little later, I pumped and Chris fed Delilah her first bottle. It took a second for the pumpkin to figure out that she was able to now magically eat while someone other than Mom was holding her, but once she got it, she downed it!
And finally, here's what my lovely husband gave me for Mother's Day...a stunning 3 diamond pendant necklace!!!!
Chris explained that he picked diamonds b/c it's Delilah's birthstone, that he picked 3 stones to represent the 3 of us, and that he picked a necklace so that I would always have the 3 of us right next to my heart. So the present was not only gorgeous, but meaningful...how lucky can one girl be?!
A sweet, perfect baby girl and an unbelievably loving husband...my cup runneth over...

Delilah loves her big new family!

Just a quick post of some of the visitors Delilah has had lately. With 4 grandparents, 10 aunts and uncles, and ten cousins, no one can say this little pumpkin isn't loved!!! The past 2 and a half weeks have been great. Lila only gets fussy when she's hungry, dirty, or has gas and I've managed to heal extremely quickly, so I can't really complain about anything. Getting more than 2 or 3 hours sleep at a time will be nice someday, but that seems to be the only downside so far. Chris went back to work this week, which was not very fun. On his first day back he lasted all the way until...lunch; yep, he came home after being gone four hours. :) He has managed to stay at work all day since then, but I don't think he likes it very much!
Aunt Amy holding the little angel

I'm in this shot b/c I can only stay away from her for about 10 minutes at a time!Aunt Kim came down from Wichita for the weekend!
Kim getting in some kisses. Kim was a huge help the entire time she was here!!!

Aunt Jenny needs kisses, too!!! Cousin Ashton says, "Me next!"

Mimi, Ashton, Delilah, and Aunt Jenny...cute pic!

And as I type this, Delilah's hanging out with her latest visitor...Grammy Di (Chris's mom). Look for another post soon about that wonderful visit.
