First Sign!
Because I'm now with Delilah so much, I decided to give baby sign language a try. I bought a book and started with a couple signs last week. And today she signed back!!! I was feeding her cereal and she gave the sign for 'milk'. I went and grabbed her bottle and when she saw it, she got super excited and kept doing the sign over and over. How cute is that?!?! (But if I'm being completely honest, I have to admit I'm a little freaked out about how soon I will have a real, live, walking, talking child on my hands. I will miss my baby...)

9 Months Old!
Really, 9 months...how is that possible?! Delilah's pulling up to standing now, and just starting to cruise along furniture. She'll take little baby steps if she's holding Chris's hands (but not mine; not sure why that is). Sleeps about 12 hours a night and loves to be curled up in the corner of her crib. She sleeps better when she's cuddled up next to something, which is pretty cute. In general, she prefers mommy these days, but daddy makes her giggle the hardest. Her favorite toys are currently anything big enough to hurt her and anything small enough to choke on. I think my favorite new thing is that she waves 'hi' and 'bye'...so sweet! We went to the doctor this morning and her numbers are great:
Weight: 19 lbs, 7oz (50th%)
Height: 28 inches (75th%)
Head: 46 cm (75th%)
Why sit in my bouncer when I can stand next to it?

Missing Chris
Chris is in Boston this week for work and Delilah and I really miss him. So this is for you, sweet husband. I know I used to write you nice long love letters...well, this will have to do while we have an 8 month old. :)
(and lest anyone think I'm a terrible mom for giving my 8 month old gobs of ketchup and mustard...I knew she would only take a taste or two b/c they were fresh from the fridge and Delilah still doesn't like to eat cold things very much)

First Day Home!
Today was my first official day as a stay-at-home-mom or SAHM, as I've learned we're called. Last week I was off work, but Delilah was still in daycare part-time so today was the big day. It's almost 4pm and we've eaten, played, read 2 books, had music time on the piano, and gone for a big walk outside. There's a playground nearby and the walk was supposed to culminate there, with me taking pictures of Delilah's first time on the swing. Alas, baby girl had other plans and fell asleep. So I followed her lead, reclined her stroller for her, and spent an hour reading in the park while she slept. It will always be this idyllic, right?
